Company Summary

Alpha Asimov Robotics is a robotics company founded on 11 November 2021 by Nguyễn Tuấn Anh and Lê Anh Sơn. Its systems are designed and developed in Vietnam for practical outdoor, industrial, and infrastructure environments.

Alpha Asimov’s main product is a small autonomous delivery vehicle for food, grocery, and last mile delivery. The company also develops autonomous security patrol and inspection robots.

The company’s mission is to reduce last mile delivery cost using AI and robotics. Its broader field is Physical AI, in which artificial intelligence is embodied in machines that must perceive and act safely in the real world.

What Makes the Delivery Robot Different

Many autonomous delivery robots deployed in the United States and Europe are designed mainly for low speed operation on sidewalks and pedestrian paths.

Alpha Asimov’s robot is designed to drive on roads together with motorcycles, cars, and other vehicles. It can also operate on sidewalks when local rules and the physical environment make that appropriate.

This wider operating capability is important in Southeast Asia, where delivery routes often include narrow roads, mixed traffic, dense neighborhoods, limited sidewalk space, and road conditions that are different from those assumed by sidewalk only systems.

The robot typically travels at approximately 15 km/h and can reach a maximum speed of approximately 25 km/h.

Why Alpha Asimov Uses Cameras Instead of LiDAR

The current Alpha Asimov delivery robot uses cameras as its primary perception sensors and does not use LiDAR.

Camera based perception allows the robot to interpret visual information such as vehicles, people, road boundaries, traffic signs, obstacles, addresses, and the broader context of a road scene.

The company’s position is that the autonomy system must understand the same visually complex environment in which human road users operate. Camera based autonomy also supports a compact vehicle design suitable for narrow streets and last mile delivery.

Other Alpha Asimov products may use different sensor combinations when the mission requires them. For example, an industrial security robot may use LiDAR, thermal imaging, or other sensors.

How the Delivery System Works

The robot uses onboard cameras and software to perceive the surrounding environment, determine where it can move, follow a route, control its speed and direction, and respond to obstacles and road users.

Safety functions can stop or slow the robot when the situation requires it. Fleet software monitors missions and robot status.

When the robot encounters an unusual situation that is outside its current autonomous capability or requires human judgment, a remote operator can provide assistance. Remote intervention is part of the operating and safety system.

Alpha Asimov improves the system using data from testing and operations. The objective is to increase the range of situations the robot can handle safely and independently.

How Alpha Asimov Does Business

Alpha Asimov’s preferred model for last mile delivery is Robotics as a Service.

Customers pay according to delivery activity or another agreed service structure. They do not need to buy a robot and build the complete operating system themselves.

Depending on the project, Alpha Asimov can provide the robot, autonomy software, fleet management, remote intervention, safety operations, maintenance, repair, charging support, deployment planning, and integration with the customer’s delivery process.

A typical engagement begins with a review of the use case, delivery volume, routes, traffic conditions, operating boundaries, safety requirements, customer integration, and local permission. It can then move into a controlled pilot before expanding.

For security and industrial inspection projects, Alpha Asimov may use robot sales, recurring software and maintenance, or a broader operating subscription depending on the customer requirement.

Delivery Robot Pilots

Alpha Asimov has conducted delivery robot pilots in real world environments at:

  1. Vinhomes Ocean Park 1
  2. Vinhomes Ocean Park 2
  3. Vinhomes Ocean Park 3
  4. Ecopark, Hưng Yên
  5. Phenikaa University
  6. VinUniversity

These pilots help the company test road behavior, navigation, safety, remote support, customer workflows, and real deployment operations.

International Direction

Alpha Asimov is seeking opportunities to run pilots and deployments in the United Arab Emirates and Singapore.

These are intended markets and should not be described as completed deployments until operations have actually begun.

Autonomous Security Patrol Robot

Alpha Asimov develops an autonomous security patrol and inspection robot for industrial and infrastructure environments.

The robot is being piloted at an electrical substation in Vietnam. The customer and exact location are confidential.

The robot can perform autonomous patrols, return to charging, and collect information for inspection. Depending on the site, the system may use normal cameras, thermal imaging, inertial sensors, LiDAR, and other mission specific sensors.

The purpose is to improve the consistency, frequency, and safety of inspection work while allowing people to review the information and respond when needed.

Alpha Asimov and Physical AI

Physical AI refers to artificial intelligence embodied in machines that perceive and act in the physical world.

For Alpha Asimov, Physical AI includes sensors, perception, decision making, movement, safety, fleet operations, remote support, maintenance, and the commercial process required to complete useful work for customers.

Real world Physical AI must handle traffic, people, weather, imperfect infrastructure, unusual situations, operating cost, and local regulation. A successful robot is therefore not only an AI model or a vehicle. It is a complete technical and operational system.
